    This project is a joint research project between the United Nations University-International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH), Uppsala University and Universiti Putra Malaysia. The main objective is to determine and examine the relationship between exposures to school indoor air pollution and asthma, allergy and respiratory symptoms among secondary school children in Malaysia. This project which started in 2007 has covered field studies in Johor, Penang and Terengganu. The methodology involves indoor air quality and dust monitoring of schools, health questionnaire survey, allergy skin prick test, fractional exhaled nitrogen oxide test and tear film stability test. A journal article on the research has been published and several articles are being written for publication. Two PhD students and one master student are working on this project and one journal article has been published.
