This project supports health policy and systems research (HPSR) capacity building as a critical component of strengthening health systems. A research training program, based on global HPSR competencies, will be designed in Malaysia and extended to other WPR countries where there is buy-in, with the aim of creating an international community of practice, and a body of policy-relevant research to support health reform. It will be delivered by a consortium comprised of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), the Institute for Health Systems Research (IHSR), the United Nations University-International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH), and the University of the Philippines Manila (UP Manila).
