Researchers from UNU-IIGH attended ISEE 2017 in Sydney

    A team of three current and former PhD students led by UNU-IIGH’s Visiting Professor, Prof. Jamal H. Hashim, attended the 29th Annual Scientific Conference of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE 2017) in Sydney, Australia, from 24 to 28 September 2017. They collectively delivered three oral and two poster presentations. Prof. Jamal was also invited to talk on Transboundary Air Pollution Issues: Haze in Southeast Asian Countries on 27 September at the 2017 Thematic Working Group on Air Quality Meeting of the Asia Pacific Regional Forum on Environment and Health held during the Conference, which was jointly supported by WHO and UNEP. The three students, Dr. Sao Vibol, Dr. Kwan Soo Chen and Ms. Noor Artika Hasan had won the highly competitive travel awards from ISEE which sponsored their travel and participation at the Conference. Prof. Jamal and his PhD students have participated actively in ISEE 2014 in Seattle, ISEE 2015 in Sao Paulo and ISEE 2016 in Rome. They next look forward to participate in the upcoming ISEE 2018 in Ottawa, Canada.
