Global Health Policy Think Tanks and SDGs

    UNU-IIGH participated in the recently convened Meeting of Global Health Policy Think Tanks and academic institutions hosted by the Global Health Centre, Graduate Institute, Geneva, 4-5 December 2017. Focusing on the theme, “A 1000 Days of SDGs – Looking Ahead, the two-day meeting brought together representatives from leading policy analysis institutions from around the world and Geneva-based global health stakeholders to analyse the political determinants of SDG implementation and discuss the role of think tanks and academic institutions in tackling governance challenges and opportunities.

    Special attention was given to four strategic areas to ensure progress on the Development Agenda, namely noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), antimicrobial resistance, universal health coverage, and planetary health. UNU-IIGH was represented by Deputy Director, Dr Obijiofor Aginam who also co-chaired the parallel workshop on planetary health.
