UNU-IIGH in Kuala Lumpur is now accepting applications for its 2015 PhD Fellowships Programme.

The aim of the programme is to provide an opportunity for candidates enrolled in a PhD programme to expand their intellectual vision beyond their scientific disciplines, and to work and interact with scholars from different countries and disciplines. Fellows will receive a monthly stipend for the 12-month duration of the fellowship.

Applicants enrolled in a PhD programme in an educational institution anywhere around the world may apply. Applicants from developing countries and women are particularly encouraged to apply.

The deadline for application submissions is 31 October 2014.

Applicants must be at the dissertation-writing stage of their PhDs, with their final research proposals accepted by their supervisors or advisory committees in their universities. Research topics should relate to one of the above UNU-IIGH thematic research areas:

    • Governance for Global Health,
    • Planetary Change and Health, and
    • Universal Health Coverage.

Fellows will be required to work on an assigned project (or projects), draft manuscripts for publication, and participate in the academic activities of the Institute (including regular in-house discussions and seminars).
