On 10th September 2013, a research team from IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Center led by Prof. Eko Supriyanto, visited UNU-IIGH for a meeting to discuss a research project to develop and implement Clinical Pathway and Casemix System for Management of Acute Myocardial Infraction in National Health Institute (IJN).
The meeting was chaired by Prof Dr Syed Mohamed Aljunid, Senior Research Fellow of UNU-IIGH and attended by 11 members from IJN-UTM, ITCC-UKMMC and IJN-UTM. The meeting was a follow-up to the MoU signed in June 2013 between UNU-IIGH and UTM. In the MoU, among others, the two institutions would work together to conduct joint research projects and capacity building in Clinical Pathways and Casemix system and organise scientific conferences, seminar and workshops.
The meeting commenced with a brief introduction on the relationship between Clinical Pathway and Casemix System by Prof Dr Syed Mohamed Aljunid. This was followed by a presentation on the proposal to develop and implement Myocardial Infraction Clinical Pathway and Casemix system in Institute Jantung Negara (IJN) by Dr Soperi, researcher and Computer Science’s lecturer from UTM.
It was agreed that the updated proposal would be presented to IJN Research and Ethics Committee. The team also agreed that a Workshop to introduce Clinical Pathways will be held in IJN in October 2013.
