ProtoPolicyAsia is a year-long programme aimed to increase local community participation in the Malaysian national policy-making process to work together with relevant government agencies on social issues that relate to older persons and persons with disabilities. This is in line with the Malaysian government’s goal to promote community-based care and address the gap between policy and practice for these vulnerable groups.
The project’s Lead PI, Dr Emmanuel Tsekleves and Malaysia PI, Dr Yong Min Hooi will be presenting a public seminar on the project at UNU-IIGH.
Dr Tsekleves’ talk will revolve around the role of design in shaping the relationship between health, well-being, and urban environments, with an eye on how it can be used to improve the health and well-being of people living in the cities at present and in the future.
Dr Yong will be speaking on the impact of age, culture, and socioeconomic differences between Malaysian and UK ageing population on their social cognition and working memory.
