On 12 June 2014 UNU-IIGH will host a public talk providing an overview of the work of the UNU Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) located in Bonn, Germany.
The presentation will be given by Professor Jakob Rhyner (UNU-EHS Director and UNU Vice-Rector in Europe) and will provide an overview of UNU-EHS research, activities and partnerships. Prof. Rhyner will discuss the impacts of climate change on environmental risks, environmentally induced migration and innovative insurance models for low-income population groups. Prof. Rhyner will look at the importance of understanding hazardous natural processes, emphasizing the need to consider the socioeconomic environment in which these processes are happening.
