GLOBAL HEALTH SEMINAR FOR YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
“GOVERNANCE CHALLENGES FOR PLANETARY HEALTH AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN SOUTHEAST ASIA”
Hosted by the United Nations University-International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Applications are invited from advanced undergraduate, and newly enrolled graduate students as well as young professionals from civil society, public and private sectors to participate in a Global Seminar organized by the United Nations University-International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH) in Kuala Lumpur. The theme of the Global Seminar is “Governance Challenges for Planetary Health and Sustainable Development in Southeast Asia”.
Eligibility:
The Global Seminar is open to Malaysian or foreign students enrolled in universities and tertiary institutions in Malaysia and Southeast Asia who are majoring in public health, environmental sciences, international relations, development, public policy, or related disciplines as well as young professionals from the public and private sectors or civil society organizations. The maximum number of participants in the seminar will be 40. Each participant will receive a UNU-IIGH certificate upon successful completion of the seminar. Lunch and refreshments (snacks) will be served during the seminar.
Objective of UNU-IIGH Global Seminars:
The objective of UNU-IIGH Global Health Seminars is to enhance the awareness of students and young professionals on contemporary global health issues in Southeast Asia and the role of the United Nations in addressing them.
Structure:
The Global Seminar will feature 2 keynote presentations, and 4 short lectures by leading scholars and practitioners, and group work by the participants before the closing ceremony and award of certificates. Please refer to the draft programme here.
