The 9th World Urban Forum (WUF 9) will be taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 7-13 February, 2018, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. As the first global forum on cities since Habitat III, WUF 9 will be a critical conversation on the implementation of the New Urban Agenda (NUA), and the roles that all sectors of society have to play in this effort.
UNU-IIGH will put the spotlight on key issues of urban health and wellbeing that are critical to the NUA, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Together with Think City and the Sustainable Places Research Institute from Cardiff University, UNU-IIGH will be launching two important documents: THRIVE: Connect, which uses photography to explore linkages between SDG 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and the other SDGs; and the SCHEMA Case Studies, which examines important and complex issues related to urban health and wellbeing, using systems approaches and place-based tools to help us understand the interactions that shape our urban environments. UNU-IIGH will also have an exhibition booth with a variety of activities, and will host and co-host various side-events on urban health. Come join us there!
