Open Source in Health Care Training Programme - Module 2
Date: This course has been postponed to May 2010
Time: All day event for 4 days
Venue: United Nations University - International Institute for Global Health
Fee: USD200 / MYR700
The Open Source in Health Care Training Programme is aimed at anyone interested in building, upgrading or interfacing with a Health Care Information System (HIS) to run their day-to-day function in their hospital or clinic, from clerks to paramedics to nurses and doctors.
The spirit of open source has allowed people with no IT background to enter the cost prohibitive HIS domain with free and ready made programs. One just needs to customize their software to suit their needs. This enduser empowerment allows the institution where they work to run efficiently with low total cost of ownership.
The Open Source in Health Care Training Programme is divided into 12 modules of 24 hours per module encompassing 4 days. The modular nature of this course allows the participant to come to UNU-IIGH for training without disrupting his day job. At the end of each module the participant will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance from UNU-IIGH.
